Serwer MariaDB jest rozwidleniem serwera MySQL opracowanym przez społeczność. Od wersji 10.6.1 do 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3 i 13.0.2 typ tabeli DOS silnika CONNECT wykorzystywał niepoprawną kontrolę granic, która umożliwiała jednobajtowy zapis zerowy poza buforem stosu przy przesunięciu kontrolowanym przez osobę atakującą. Uwierzytelniony użytkownik, który może korzystać z silnika CONNECT, może spowodować awarię i potencjalnie zdalne wykonanie kodu. Ten problem został rozwiązany w wersjach 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3 i 13.0.2.
