RT-Thread do wersji 5.3.0 zawiera lukę w zabezpieczeniach powodującą uszkodzenie pamięci w starszym sterowniku wirtualnego portu COM USB CDC, który aliasuje rx_ringbuffer jako Serial V2 rt_serial_rx_fifo w _function_enable(). Podłączony host USB konfigurujący wyzwalacze urządzenia CDC zapisuje poza buforem pierścieniowym do elementów członkowskich struktury vcom i niepoprawną funkcję rt_free() przy zamykaniu, powodując odmowę usługi.
