W jbardin scp.py do wersji 0.16.1 wykryto lukę w zabezpieczeniach. Elementem, którego to dotyczy, jest funkcja _recv_file/_recv_pushd komponentu SCP Request Handler. Manipulacja prowadzi do przejścia ścieżki. Możliwe jest zdalne wykorzystanie ataku. Aby rozwiązać ten problem, wystarczy aktualizacja do wersji 0.16.2. Identyfikator poprawki to 42fc3aaa71411daed60544e3b40179c1038bed5d. Zalecana jest aktualizacja komponentu, którego dotyczy problem. Skontaktowano się ze sprzedawcą, który udzielił bardzo profesjonalnej odpowiedzi i szybko udostępnił poprawioną wersję produktu, którego dotyczył problem.
