Libregf do 20260526 zawiera stertę poza granicami odczytaną w funkcji libregf_value_item_read_value_data(), ponieważ ogranicza ona rozmiar danych wartości bez odejmowania 4-bajtowego przesunięcia komórek w starym formacie. Atakujący mogą dostarczyć spreparowaną gałąź REGF w wersji 1.0/1.1 z komórką danych wartości kończącą pojemnik gałęzi, aby spowodować wyciek sąsiednich bajtów sterty lub spowodować awarię analizatorów składni, takich jak regfexport i plaso.
