Netgate pfSense CE w wersjach od 2.7.0 do 2.9.0 zawiera lukę umożliwiającą wprowadzenie konfiguracji, która umożliwia uwierzytelnionym użytkownikom z uprawnieniami IPsec Mobile wykonywanie poleceń jako root za pośrednictwem pola login_banner. Atakujący mogą przesłać jednowierszowy baner zawierający „}”, aby uniknąć niecytowanej wartości atrybutu strongswan.conf i zdefiniować wpisy charon.start-scripts, które charon wykonuje jako root przy ponownym uruchomieniu.
