Biblioteki libfvde do 20260923 zawierają lukę w zabezpieczeniach umożliwiającą odczyt poza granicami sterty w libfvde_encrypted_metadata_read_type_0x0024(), ponieważ xml_plist_data_size nie jest sprawdzany względem źródłowego bloku metadanych. Atakujący mogą dostarczyć spreparowany wolumin FileVault 2 Core Storage, który powoduje, że libfvde_volume_open() kopiuje poza bufor bloku sterty, powodując awarię aplikacji.
