Fraunhofer HHI VVdeC do wersji 3.2.1 zawiera lukę w zabezpieczeniach związaną z wyłuskiwaniem wskaźnika NULL w InterPrediction::xPredInterBlk, która umożliwia atakującym zawieszenie dekodera poprzez przełączenie SPS w celu umożliwienia zawijania odwołań. Atakujący mogą dostarczyć spreparowany strumień bitów VVC, aktywując nowy SPS z ustawionym sps_ref_wraparound_enabled_flag, powodując odczyty z brakujących buforów PIC_RECON_WRAP i odmowę usługi.
