2FAuth to aplikacja internetowa służąca do zarządzania kontami z uwierzytelnianiem dwuskładnikowym (2FA) i generowania ich kodów bezpieczeństwa. Przed wersją 8.0.0, gdy AUTHENTICATION_GUARD=reverse-proxy-guard akceptuje nagłówki uwierzytelniania od klienta, który nie przeszedł przez zaufany serwer proxy, RemoteUserProvider::retrieveById() tworzy konto dla nieznanego REMOTE_USER, awansuje pierwsze utworzone konto na administratora i synchronizuje adres e-mail konta ze skonfigurowanym nagłówkiem poczty. Nieuwierzytelniony klient zdalny może zatem utworzyć administratora na nowej instancji lub podszywać się pod znane konto i przekierowywać je, ujawniając sekrety 2FA i funkcje administracyjne. Ten problem został rozwiązany w wersji 8.0.0.
