Luka w esaml w esaml w Dropbox esaml umożliwia nieuwierzytelnionemu atakującemu wyczerpanie tabeli atomów maszyny wirtualnej Erlang i awarię węzła poprzez niepodpisane komunikaty LogoutResponse.
esaml:status_code_map/1 w src/esaml.erl odwzorowuje dowolną wartość StatusCode, której nie rozpoznaje, na atom z list_to_atom/1 w ostatnim segmencie URN oddzielonym dwukropkami. esaml_sp:validate_logout_response/2 weryfikuje podpis tylko wtedy, gdy wiadomość go zawiera, więc niepodpisana odpowiedź LogoutResponse wysłana do punktu końcowego z pojedynczym wylogowaniem dociera do esaml:decode_logout_response/1 i generuje jeden atom permanentu na każdą odrębną wartość statusu. Atomy nigdy nie są odzyskiwane, a maszyna wirtualna ogranicza tabelę atomów do około miliona wpisów, więc osoba atakująca, która opublikuje tak wiele różnych wartości, przerywa węzeł.
Ten problem dotyczy esaml: od wersji 0.1.0 i nowszych.
