W GNU Binutils 2.47 wykryto lukę w zabezpieczeniach. Dotknięta jest funkcja elf_x86_64_common_section_index w pliku bfd/elf64-x86-64.c w komponencie ELF Sekcja Handler. Manipulacja prowadzi do dereferencji wskaźnika zerowego. Atak należy przeprowadzić lokalnie. Exploit został ujawniony publicznie i może zostać wykorzystany. Aktualizacja do wersji 2.48 rozwiązuje ten problem. Identyfikator poprawki to 7322e9bc30cb282575a701c307851fd3d66fee68. Sugeruje się aktualizację komponentu, którego dotyczy problem.
